Salmon or chicken? Maybe in a foil packet with fresh vegetables? Cooks fast, not too heavy, smells heavenly when first opened. I love Epicurious for recipes.

White wine or rose.

This might sound obvious, but: no garlic or onions if you can help it. Somebody keeps bringing garlic hummus to sex parties around here. I don't even think it's the same person every time. I love garlic and I still wish they would stop.

Red wine. Not too much though. I'd go for a big bold red wine like a Cabernet or Zinfandel. White wine isn't really sexy... but you could always do champagne.

After dinner, either some REALLY dark french roast coffee, or espresso shots. Perhaps some nice port or sherry, if you like them.

Some of my favorite dinner party recipes:
Alton Brown's Oysters

Bananas Foster

If you search the foodnetwork.com website for "Dinner Party" and click on Topics instead of Recipes, there are lots of ideas there as well.
